Weekend Update 5–27–2022

A few reminders:

Parade Shirts

Polo Shirts are available in the Band Room now. All extra shirts that have not been picked up, PLUS all extra shirts, will be at the parade at 10:30a on Monday.

Band Jackets

I was told that Band Jackets will ship next week… FINALLY!

There was a supply chain issue, and they wouldn’t produce any jackets until they had all of them.

Memorial Day Parade — May 30, 2022

Important notes:

• All instruments MUST be at the dungeon by FRIDAY to be included on the truck on Monday. Any student who has an instrument that will be transported for them should arrive at the dungeon FIRST at 9:00a on MONDAY morning to help the parents load the truck.
• All MIDDLE SCHOOL students WILL be performing with the BHS Band. (SHS students will be performing with SHS)
• All students can get the music here (7 Nation Army for ALL students, Carnivalito for Drummers only):

• The parade will be on, Rain or Shine. We will only participate if the weather permits.

Our uniform for the day will be a special uniform specific for warm weather events:

• Khaki Shorts
• Parade Polo Shirt (orders will be ready the week prior to the parade)
• Sneakers (white) w/socks
• Sunglasses optional

10:30a — meet in parade dress at the St. James Church parking lot.

11:00a — Middle School students attend ceremony at Academy Hill, then report to St James.

12:15p — Parade Steps off

1:00p — Parade ends, dismissal at Adzima parking lot at the Green

Color Guard —June 1

Color Guard for the Fall 2022 season will continue, 6–8p on the side field.

Students are expected to attend practices if they are in town. Vacations are excused.

Drumline — June 2

This is the last practice of the spring.

Band Elections — June 1

Students wishing to run for office (President, VP etc…) should attend — and ALL students should attend an VOTE! Section Leaders will be appointed that day as well, and anyone wishing to be an officer MUST attend!

Band Tour — June 6

Indoor Drumline & Indoor Guard will do a tour to Flood MS & Wooster MS on June 6.

Here’s the schedule:

7:30a — bus from SHS to BHS

8a — meet in Band Room at BHS

8:30a — load and depart

9a — set up at Flood

10a — perform

1030a — depart for Vazzy ($10 CASH)

11:00a — lunch

12p — arrive Wooster

12:45p — perform

1:15p — depart for BHS — unload, dismissed

Band Awards Night June 9

Date — June 9. All awards will be presented that night. Students MUST attend Memorial Day Parade and must be current with their Band Financial Account.

6:00p — arrive BHS Cafe

6:30 — Pizza

Algunos recordatorios:

Camisas de desfile
Las camisetas ya están disponibles en la Sala de la Banda. Todas las camisetas adicionales que no hayan sido recogidas, ADEMÁS, todas las camisetas adicionales estarán en el desfile a las 10:30.

Chaquetas de banda
Me dijeron que Band Jackets se enviará la próxima semana… ¡POR FIN!
Había un problema con la cadena de suministro y no producirían ninguna chaqueta hasta que las tuvieran todas.

Desfile del Día de los Caídos — 30 de mayo de 2022
Notas importantes:
Todos los instrumentos DEBEN estar en la mazmorra el VIERNES para ser incluidos en el camión el lunes. Cualquier estudiante que tenga un instrumento que será transportado para ellos debe llegar PRIMERO al calabozo a las 9:00 am el LUNES por la mañana para ayudar a los padres a cargar el camión.
Las camisetas deben entregarse a las clases en BHS esta semana.
Habrá camisetas adicionales disponibles en el Desfile, antes de bajar.
Todos los estudiantes de ESCUELA INTERMEDIA se presentarán con la Banda de BHS. (Los estudiantes de SHS actuarán con SHS)

Los estudiantes que deseen postularse para un cargo (presidente, vicepresidente, etc.) deben asistir — y ¡TODOS los estudiantes deben asistir a una VOTACIÓN! ¡Los líderes de sección también serán designados ese día, y cualquier persona que desee ser un oficial DEBE asistir!

Gira de bandas — 6 de junio
Indoor Drumline & Indoor Guard harán una gira por Flood MS & Wooster MS el 6 de junio.
Aquí está el horario:
7:30a — autobús de SHS a BHS
8a — reunión en la Sala de Banda en BHS

9a — instalado en Diluvio
10a — realizar
