Weekend Wrap Up
What a terrific Premiere Weekend! We had the highest opening night score in many years — 78.03, and currently have the highest score of any USBands Band in Group 5A!

Uniform Issues
A few reminders that we need to mention:
- Students MUST wear a DARK shirt under their uniform top (Band Members — not pit or Guard). Black or Theme Tee.
- No Fingernail polish
- No jewelry (Watches, Fitbits, Wrist Bands or Strings, Hoop or dangly earrings)
- Black socks that go up your calf (NO ANKLE SOCKS!)
- Please also clean your shoes (they also make this product called shoe polish), and wash your gloves, on a weekly basis!
Student drop off location
For ALL practices and football games — is by the tennis courts, please don’t come around the back of the school.
Athletic gate watchers will NOT allow parents to drive behind the building for Drop-Off on the nights we have football games.
Early Departure from Events
All students are REQUIRED to stay to the end of every event, and ride the bus to and from all events. Exceptions can be made on a case by case situation for family functions, such as a wedding or religious commitment. Many times we discuss the event on the bus ride home.
In addition, here will be a new policy/procedure for leaving a contest early COMING SOON…
Missing Practices
All students are required to attend all practices for the full amount of the time.
Absences from any event (including Rehearsals) must be discussed prior to the event with the director, and you MUST fill out the “Absence Reporting Form” on the Band Website for EACH and EVERY instance.
Any 2 absences from any Band and Color Guard event (competitions, rehearsals, pep rallies, parades, public performances, etc.) without excuse will result in a suspension or a loss of a performance that weekend, and possible loss of Award/Scholarship at the end of the school year.
Excused absences will include only:
- Illness (Doctor note required after the second absence)
- Death in the family
- Weddings
- Pre-approved H.S. Sports or other H.S. activity
- Religious obligations
Work is not an excuse and “too much homework” is also not an excuse.
Almost ALL of the Band Students are enrolled in Honors, ECE & AP classes, and MANY Band Members also participate on an Athletic Team.
Here’s a PERFECT opportunity for you to learn how to budget your time, something that every ADULT deals with on a daily basis!!!
