Marching Band 2021- First Practice & More
Our first practice will be June 21 at the BHS Band Room from 9a-12p. No worries, if you are already out of town, just email me and let me know. Masks (music performing masks if you have one — and I have extra) are still required.
This is for Brass Woodwinds & Drumline/Pit ONLY — no Color Guard (you start on Wednesday the 23rd @ 5:30p)
Please report to the Gym Lobby entrance to be “checked in”. Students should bring a check made out to Bunnell HS for their $50 deposit (students with credits do not need to do this).
There will be an officers meeting at 8a in the Band Room (including Color Guard Captains).
We are currently approaching 90 members! (Group 4 ends at 99 performers)
We are, however, still in need of Drummers, Flutes & French Horns.
Here’s the current Instrumentation — it’s actually quite balanced!
1 Flute
7 Clarinets, 2 Bass Clarinets
8 Alto Sax, 4 Tenor Sax, 2 Bari Sax
9 Trumpets
1 French Horn
3 Baritones, 5 Trombones, 2 Tubas
10 Battery Percussion
12 Pit Percusion
17 Color Guard
2 Drum Majors

Please download your Sheet Music & Play Along Audio file (your part with a click track) here (all first year members should take a 2nd part, or 3rd for the trumpets… the only difference between 1st and 2nd, or 3rd, is how high the notes go).
The show is called “Heroes” and is a tribute to all essential workers from 2020 & 2021.

End of Year Awards/Recognition — 6/24/2021
We will hold our annual End of the Year Awards Celebration and Recognition at the Short Beach Pavilion on June 24th, 2021.
This is for all students who participated in the Fall 2020 Marching Band & Color Guard.
Seniors and all 2nd-4th year members will receive their “Stars” and all First Year members will receive their Varsity Letter. I will have extra awards available for those who didn’t receive their award last year.
I will also have Senior plaques for the SHS students as well.
Here’s the schedule:
Band Celebration — June 24, 2021
5:00p — arrive at short beach
5:15p — pizza dinner
5:45p — awards for Underclass and senior stars
6:15p — ice cream
6:45p — Parent Meeting
