Greetings — here’s the scoop…
Great Story About Eli Whitney School
The school began collecting beverage can tabs in November, with the goal of donating one million tabs to the Ronald McDonald House fundraising program.

We need Band & Guard students to come Sat 5/13 to the bottle drive 9a–12p and pull off all the tabs from the cans. This is a great way to give back to Eli Whitney from our students!
Clothing Drive & Cans & Bottle Return
May 13 at Eli Whitney Bus Lane.
Please drop off your returnables & any gently used clothing.
Flower Pick Up Tuesday May 9
The pick up date had to be changed for our flower sale fundraiser. The new pick up date is Tuesday, May 9th. The students that ordered flowers will be contacted by Annmarie Michaud with a pick up time.
We are in need of volunteers to help that afternoon, May 9th, from 3–7pm to unload the flowers from the truck and to sort the orders. The delivery of the flowers is expected to be at 3:00pm.

Drumline Continues
This Wednesday from 6p-9p at BHS Band Room. All current 7th-12 grade students are invited to attend.
Guard Begins
Guard will begin on May 17 at 5:30p on the side field near the tennis courts. Please BRING a FRIEND!!! All current 7th-12 grade students are invited to attend, and we currently have 16 students registered for Color Guard for the Fall!

Drum Major Auditions
Drum Major Auditions will be May 17 from 2p-245p. Students should have a knowledge of conduction patterns & giving “commands” as well as a rigorous leadership interview. Students in 9th — 11th are permitted to audition, however — typically, we will choose from the current 10th and 11'th grade students.
Band Elections
Band elections will be May 31st from 2p-2:30p. Anyone wishing to be an officer must attend the election. Please refer to the Band Handbook for a list of open positions. Students who are elected/appointed should plan on staying for a brief meeting.
All Seniors are invited to vote, as they represent the incoming 8th grtaders for next year.

Spring Concert
The Spring Concert is May 23, 2023 at 7p. Donation is $3.
Students will report at 6p for warm up.
Indoor Drumline will report at 5p to set up and run thru.
All SHS students will perform with the Drum Line.
Concert attire is required — Black Pants, White tops, Ties for the gentlemen, dress shoes for all.
And — this is a MANDATORY performance for all BHS students in the Indoor Drumline, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble & Select students from Sectional Band.
Memorial Day Parade
May 31–2023.
Students meet at the St. James Parking pot at 10:30a. Middle school students MUST perform with their schools at Academy Hill THEN report at approx 11:30a to the church Parking Lot.
Step off is at noon.
We should be finished by 1p.
Students should be picked up at the Adzima Funeral Home at the Green, which is where we will load the truck.
Band Tour
The Band Tour for Indoor Season (Guard & Drumline) is tentatively set for June 5.
Band Awards
Band awards will be June 8 in the BHS Cafeteria. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided by the Band Parents!

La escuela comenzó a recolectar etiquetas de latas de bebidas en noviembre, con el objetivo de donar un millón de etiquetas al programa de recaudación de fondos de la Casa Ronald McDonald.

Recogida de Flores Martes 9 de Mayo
Tuvimos que cambiar la fecha de recogida para nuestra recaudación de fondos de venta de flores. La nueva fecha de recogida es el martes 9 de mayo. Los estudiantes que ordenaron flores serán contactados por Annmarie Michaud con un horario de recogida.
Necesitamos voluntarios para ayudar esa tarde, 9 de mayo, de 3 a 7 p. m. para descargar las flores del camión y clasificar los pedidos. La entrega de las flores está prevista para las 15:00 horas.

Este miércoles de 6p-9p en BHS Band Room. Todos los estudiantes actuales de 7º a 12º grado están invitados a asistir.

Las audiciones de Drum Major serán el 17 de mayo de 2p-245p. Los estudiantes deben tener un conocimiento de los patrones de conducción y dar “órdenes”, así como una entrevista de liderazgo rigurosa. Los estudiantes de 9° a 11° pueden hacer una audición, sin embargo, por lo general, elegiremos entre los estudiantes actuales de 10° y 11° grado.
Elecciones de banda
Las elecciones de banda serán el 31 de mayo de 2 p.m. a 2:30 p.m. Cualquier persona que desee ser oficial debe asistir a la elección. Concierto de primavera
El Concierto de Primavera es el 23 de mayo de 2023 a las 7 p.m. La donación es de $3.
Los estudiantes se reportarán a las 6p para el calentamiento.
Indoor Drumline informará a las 5 p.m. para configurar y ejecutar.
Todos los estudiantes de SHS actuarán con Drum Line.
Se requiere vestimenta de concierto — Pantalones negros, blusas blancas, corbatas para los caballeros, zapatos de vestir para todos.
Y — esta es una actuación OBLIGATORIA para todos los estudiantes de BHS en la línea de percusión interior, la banda de concierto, el conjunto de viento y los estudiantes selectos de la banda seccional.

Los estudiantes se reúnen en el estacionamiento de St. James a las 10:30 a.m. Los estudiantes de secundaria DEBEN presentarse con sus escuelas en Academy Hill LUEGO presentarse aproximadamente a las 11:30 am en el estacionamiento de la iglesia.
El paso es al mediodía.
Deberíamos terminar a la 1p.
Los estudiantes deben ser recogidos en Adzima Funeral Home at the Green, que es donde cargaremos el camión.
