Drum Major Auditions — May 14
Starting at 2:05p
Band Elections — May 23
Starting at 2:05p. If you want to be elected or appointed, you MUST be in attendance! Current 9–12 students ONLY will vote.
Stratford Arts Commission
Our gifted and talented BHS artists and musicians have been invited to share their respective gifts at the next meeting of the Stratford Arts Commission at the Riverview Bistro on Thursday, May 16th, from 6–8 pm.
Parents are invited to accompany their students at this event.
Any student wishing to participate should see Mr. Miller NO LATER than May 1 to confirm participation.
Spring Concert —May 21!
May 21 — $3 Donation 7PM Start time
- Indoor Drum Line Students report 5:30p
- Band Students Report 6p (Band Room)
- Band Warm up in Band Room & Indoor Drum Line warm up on Stage
- Concert order: Indoor Drum Line, Choir, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble
Concert should be over by 8:30PM
All students are expected to stay the entire time
All students (including Indoor Drum Line) will perform in “Concert Dress”
- Men: Black Pants, White DRESS shirt, Tie, Dress shoes & socks
- Ladies: Black pants or skirt BELOW the knee, White top, Dress shoes.
The concert is a GRADE in the 4th Quarter. Please do NOT miss this performance!
Step Up Day
Tuesday — May 21 — Step Up Day
BHS Students will have a Flood 8th Grade “Shadow” Period 3.
We will practice together Period 4 on Stage
Memorial Day Parade
May 27, 2019
- Band Polos distributed in class on May 21, 22, 23. (Also available at the Parade)
- All Large instruments, percussion, pit, tubas etc… into the dungeon on Friday, May 24 by 2p
- Students who use large instruments report to the dungeon at 10a on Monday to help load trucks
- All students meet at the St. James Church Parking Lot no later than 10:30a on Monday, dressed in Khaki Shorts, Polo shirts, sneakers (pereferably white or black), socks and Sun Glasses.
- Parade starts at 12noon
- We will be finished by 1p at the Adzima Funeral Home. Students with large instruments should plan on going back to the dungeon to help unload.
- Students will need transportation to and from the parade.
- Parade is weather permitting (for us) but will go on rain or shine.
- All Guard and Band are expected to participate. Students who do not participate may lose their Band Award or Senior Scholarship.
Payments
It’s that time of year again. All accounts MUST be settled NOW, please!
- Seniors must be paid in full to attend Graduation.
- There will be NO MORE payment plans! Please, don’t ask for one!
- Any student with a Balance on their account after June 1, 2019 will not be permitted to participate in ANY school activities, including the 2019 Fall Marching Band, until their balance is at ZERO. Again, no payment plans.
- Any student wishing to be an officer MUST have their balance at ZERO prior to Drum Major Auditions or Band Elections
