Spring Concert

Marching Band 2021

We are currently planning on a “Normal” season with summer rehearsals, Band Camp & a full Fall Season. We are scheduled to perform at MetLife Stadium for Nationals as well.

We are currently between 55 & 60 members and getting more every day. USBands has adjusted the Group sizes. There is no longer a Group VI. Currently, we would be a Group II Band, which is 40–59 members.

Either way — we are going to be VERY good!

We are doing a tribute to essential workers during the pandemic & the music is terrific! It will work well with ANY size band.

The Music & Audio files will be available before this week is over.

Memorial Day Parade

Sadly, we will not be participating in the Memorial Day Parade this year. However, the Band Students will be preparing a video, as we did last year.

Band Elections

This is the LAST CALL for anyone who wishes to hold an office. As of now, we only have 1 candidate for each office, other than Secretary, which has 2. Students may submit more than one form to be considered for more than one position.

Voting will occur at the end of this week

End of Year Awards/Recognition 6/24/2021

We will hold our annual End of the Year Awards Celebration and Recognition at the Short Beach Pavilion on June 24th, 2021.

Seniors and all 2nd-4th year members will receive their “Stars” and all First Year members will receive their Varsity Letter. I will have extra awards available for those who didn’t receive their award last year.

I will also have Senior plaques for the SHS students as well.

Here’s the schedule:

Band Celebration — June 24, 2021
5:00p — arrive at short beach
5:15p — pizza dinner
5:45p — awards for Underclass and senior stars
6:15p — ice cream
6:45p — Parent Meeting
