Drumline — May 4

Drumline for Fall 2022 will begin May 4, 2022 in the Band Room. This is for the Fall Drumline only, not Indoor. This is for ALL BHS/SHS/FMS/WMS students who wish to be a member of the Fall 2022 Marching Band Drumline or Pit.

Band Tours

The new tentative date for the Middle School Band Tours will be the first or second week in June…

Uniform Returns May 11

Please return any band pants, any hats, uniform bags, borrowed shoes, pit uniforms etc… to the dungeon Wed 5/11 from 6–8pm.

NJ Trip

We just learned that the performance time for the NJ Indoor Drumline Trip will be 4p. Originally, it was scheduled to be mid-day. With a later start, we would be traveling home from NJ in Rush Hour, and possibly not be home until 9p. A final decision will be made today or tomorrow.

Color Guard — May 25

Color Guard for the Fall 2022 season will begin May 25th, 6–8p on the side field.

Students are expected to attend practices if they are in town. Vacations are excused.

Drum Major Auditions — May 11

Students wishing to audition for Conductor may do so starting at 2p in the Band Room.

Spring Concert — May 18 at 7p

Performing are the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble & Indoor Drumline. All BHS/SHS/FMS/WMS students in the indoor Drumline will be performing as well!

The concert will be held in the Main Gym. As of now, seating is limited to 1/2 capacity. This should not be an issue. Tickets will be required ($4) they will be available online. More information coming soon.

Dress Rehearsal will be May 18 during the day. All Band members will report for Blocks 2 & 3 (periods 1 & 2). Additional students will be called down to help with the set up during Block 1 (period 4)

Dress Code for performers:

Concert Dress (attire) is: Black on the Bottom with a PLAIN White dress shirt on top. Men will wear a tie and Ladies may wear a plain black skirt that falls BELOW the knee! All must wear dress shoes/socks — NO SNEAKERS!!! Failure to attend the concert will severely impact the student’s grade for MP 4. Any student not dressed appropriately (including footwear) will be sent home to change. Indoor Drumline will wear concert attire.

Band Elections — May 25

Students wishing to run for office (President, VP etc…) should attend — and ALL students should attend an VOTE! Section Leaders will be appointed that day as well, and anyone wishing to be an officer MUST attend!

Memorial Day Parade — May 30, 2022

We will participate in the Memorial Day Parade in Stratford on May 30. All performers from the Fall 2022 Band MUST participate. This includes all Middle School students. SHS students will perform with SHS.

Our uniform will be a special uniform specific for warm weather events:

• Khaki Shorts
• Parade Polo Shirt (orders will be ready the week prior to the parade)
• Sneakers (white) w/socks
• Sunglasses optional

10:30a — meet in parade dress at the St. James Church parking lot.

10:45a — warm up

11:00a — Middle School students attend ceremony at Academy Hill

12:15a — Parade Steps off

1:00p — Parade ends, dismissal at Adzima parking lot at the Green

Band Awards Night June 9

Date — June 9. All awards will be presented that night. Students MUST attend Memorial Day Parade and must be current with their Band Financial Account.

6:00p — arrive BHS Cafe

6:30 — Pizza

7:00p — Awards

Devoluciones de uniformes el 11 de mayo
Devuelva los pantalones de la banda, los sombreros, las bolsas de los uniformes, los zapatos prestados, los uniformes de los pits, etc. al calabozo el miércoles 11 de mayo de 6 a 8 p. m.

Viaje a Nueva Jersey
Nos acabamos de enterar de que el tiempo de actuación para el NJ Indoor Drumline Trip será de 4p. Originalmente, estaba programado para el mediodía. Con un comienzo más tarde, estaríamos viajando a casa desde NJ en hora punta, y posiblemente no estaríamos en casa hasta las 9:00 p. m. La decisión final se tomará hoy o mañana.

Guardia de honor — 25 de mayo
Color Guard para la temporada de otoño de 2022 comenzará el 25 de mayo, de 6 a 8 p.m. en el campo lateral.

Audiciones de batería mayor — 11 de mayo
Los estudiantes que deseen audicionar para Director pueden hacerlo a partir de las 2p en el Salón de Banda.

Concierto de primavera — 18 de mayo a las 7p
Actuando son la banda de concierto, el conjunto de viento y la línea de tambores interior. ¡Todos los estudiantes de BHS/SHS/FMS/WMS en el Drumline interior también actuarán!
El concierto se llevará a cabo en el Gimnasio Principal. A partir de ahora, los asientos están limitados a la mitad de la capacidad. Esto no debería ser un problema. Se requerirán boletos ($4), estarán disponibles en línea. Más información próximamente.
El ensayo general será el 18 de mayo durante el día. Todos los miembros de la Banda se reportarán para los Bloques 2 y 3 (períodos 1 y 2). Se llamará a estudiantes adicionales para ayudar con la configuración durante el Bloque 1 (período 4)
Código de vestimenta para los artistas:
El vestido de concierto (atuendo) es: negro en la parte inferior con una camisa de vestir blanca LISO en la parte superior. ¡Los hombres usarán una corbata y las damas pueden usar una falda negra lisa que cae POR DEBAJO de la rodilla! Todos deben usar zapatos de vestir/calcetines — NO SNEAKERS!!! La falta de asistencia al concierto tendrá un impacto severo en la calificación del estudiante para MP 4. Cualquier estudiante que no esté vestido apropiadamente (incluido el calzado) será enviado a casa para cambiarse. Indoor Drumline usará atuendo de concierto.

Elecciones de bandas — 25 de mayo
Los estudiantes que deseen postularse para un cargo (presidente, vicepresidente, etc.) deben asistir — y ¡TODOS los estudiantes deben asistir a una VOTACIÓN! ¡Los líderes de sección también serán designados ese día, y cualquier persona que desee ser un oficial DEBE asistir!

Desfile del Día de los Caídos — 30 de mayo de 2022
Participaremos en el Desfile del Día de los Caídos en Stratford el 30 de mayo. Todos los artistas de la banda de otoño de 2022 DEBEN participar. Esto incluye a todos los estudiantes de secundaria. Los estudiantes de SHS actuarán con SHS.
Nuestro uniforme será un uniforme especial específico para eventos de clima cálido:
Pantalones cortos de color caqui
Polo del desfile (los pedidos estarán listos la semana anterior al desfile)
Zapatillas (blancas) con calcetines
Gafas de sol opcionales

10:30a — reunión en traje de desfile en el estacionamiento de St. James Church.
10:45a — calentamiento
11:00a — Los estudiantes de secundaria asisten a la ceremonia en Academy Hill
12:15a — Desfile de pasos
1:00p — Termina el desfile, salida en el estacionamiento de Adzima en el Green
Noche de premios de bandas 9 de junio
Fecha — 9 de junio. Todos los premios se entregarán esa noche. Los estudiantes DEBEN asistir al Desfile del Día de los Caídos y deben estar al día con su cuenta financiera de banda.
