Greetings! Here’s the news:

Spring Concert!!!

Date — May 18, 2021

Rain Date — May 24, 2021

Performers — Wind Ensemble plus selected Concert Band & Sectional Band Students as well as the Indoor Drumline. Students from Concert Band & Any Distance Learners will have an alternative assignment.

Guests — 2 Guests per student are allowed (register below)

Time — 6p — Choir & Orchestra then Indoor Drumline & Band (Wind Ensemble & Friends)

Dress Code — Students will wear Black & White (Ties for the Men) and dress shoes.

Location — Lawn outside near the Flagpole by the Gym Lobby entrance

Procedure

  • Please enter the school by the Huntington Ave Firehouse — this will be the only entrance available.
  • All students are dropped off in the Main Parking Lot. In front of C-wing. Parents & Students will park in the Main lot (Firehouse Side away from Tennis Courts, please)

4:30p — All students arrive and are temperature screened at the start of the one way road leading away from the circle. (You will see tables) Band students will enter the building ONLY to retrieve their instrument. No congregating in the building…

4:45p — Wind Ensemble run Thru

5:00p — Drum Line Run Thru

5:30p — Choir/Orchestra Run Thru

5:30p — All parents are checked in at the start of the one way road leading away from the circle. (You will see tables)

All guests MUST show ID, wear a mask, and sit in socially distant “pods” in families.

***ALL guests MUST bring their own seating*** (folding lawn chair etc…)

5:45p — ALL guests MUST be seated

6:00p — Choir and Orchestra Perform (Band Members in their seats) Choir Awards

7:00p — Drumline & Wind Ensemble Perform

7:45p — Band Senior Scholarship & Awards Announced

8:15 — clean up and dismissal

Awards for Seniors

We will present the Senior Scholarships and other Awards (if ready) at the end of the concert.

Band Elections

Voting will take place at the END of next week

Please submit ONE form for EACH Office you wish to be considered (you will only be able to hold ONE office — but can run for as many as you wish).

All grade levels may vote, including the classes of 2021 & 2025

Voting will occur NEXT WEEK, via Google Forms.

Section Leaders are chosen by the Director, not voted in…

Here are the offices:
* Band President — works with the conductors in bringing the students point of view to the Director. Enforces attendance policy. Fund raising leader.

* Vice President — aids the president. Promotes concerts and events. Assists with awards.

* Secretary — all communications and bookkeeping.

* Librarian — attends to the music. Distributes numbered folders. Keeps records.

* Historian — keeps a scrapbook, photos, news articles, etc….

Marching Band 2021 Fall

We are receiving more registrations every day and it looks like we’re on our way to having a slightly smaller (we have a TON of seniors) but great band again for next fall.

If you see your name below — you participated last year, but I don’t have your registration for the Fall 2021 as of today:

End of the Year Celebration

We are planning on some type of Awards/recognition/Gathering for the end of the year. it will take place after Graduation (we do not want to jeopardize the “big” events for the Seniors).

We are looking at Short Beach or Boothe Park
