Happy Valentine’s Day!
Drumline
Drumline is on tonight, but all students will be dismissed at 8:45p.
Seniors will have their photos taken (in uniform) on Saturday at 11a.
Please be sure you have your uniform for Saturday.
Drumline Chaperones & Pit Crew for Saturday
Drumline Parents — we are in need of several parents EACH WEEK to chaperone and help move equipment (especially the latter). Please email me or Mrs. Ramos if you are able to help. You will get free admission to the event!
Weather for this week
We are still watching a possible storm for Saturday morning that could impact the Contest at East Haven.
As of now, all is moving forward as planned

St Pat’s Parade
We will be participating in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Bridgeport on March 15. We will need several Chaperones and the students WILL be wearing the Fall Marching Band uniforms.
Students should try on their shoes to be sure that they still fit!
All pit players will need to be fitted (Day & Time TBA) for a uniform and will need to have band shoes. I will set up a shoe order next week for those who need it.
Indoor Drumline Schedule 2–17–2024
East Haven HS Competition
9:00a — Report BHS in Uniform
9:15a — Rehearsal in the Cafeteria
11:00a — short break (bring a snack)
11:20a — resume rehearsal
12:45p — Load Truck
1:30p — Depart for East Haven — eat lunch on the bus
2:15p — arrive, unload, warm up
4:18p — PERFORM!
(students will have an opportunity to purchase food at the East Haven Concessions)
5:15p — Awards
5:45p — Depart for BHS
6:30p — unload, dismissed.
Truck will unload into the Band Room.
Band Room will NOT be open when the bus returns at 6:30
Indoor Drumline Uniform
Here’s the uniform for the Indoor Drumline.
Students will need to have this prior to the first contest on February 17
We want to be a little “dressy” this year — since the Duke Ellington Orchestra always wore tuxedos or suits…
1 — Black Pants (no yoga pants or sweatpants)
2 — Black shoes & black socks (band shoes will work)
3 — a Fedora of your choice (some may still have these from 2 years ago) Grey or black preferred
4 — A Grey or Silver Dress shirt (Button down “Oxford” style long sleeve)
This one is “Grey Khaki”…
5 — no ties required!

Esta noche suena Drumline, pero todos los estudiantes saldrán a las 8:45 p.m.

Todavía estamos observando una posible tormenta para el sábado por la mañana que podría afectar el Concurso en East Haven.
Por el momento todo avanza según lo previsto.

Desfile de San Patricio
Participaremos en el desfile del Día de San Patricio en Bridgeport el 15 de marzo. Necesitaremos varios acompañantes y los estudiantes usarán los uniformes de la Banda de Marcha de Otoño.
¡Los estudiantes deben probarse sus zapatos para asegurarse de que todavía les queden bien!
Todos los jugadores de boxes deberán estar equipados (día y hora por confirmar) para un uniforme y deberán tener zapatos con banda. Haré un pedido de zapatos la próxima semana para quienes lo necesiten.

El camión descargará en la sala de banda.

Uniforme de línea de tambor interior
Aquí está el uniforme del Indoor Drumline.
Los estudiantes deberán tener esto antes del primer concurso el 17 de febrero.
Queremos estar un poco “elegantes” este año — ya que la Orquesta de Duke Ellington siempre vestía esmoquin o traje…
1 — Pantalones negros (no pantalones de yoga ni pantalones deportivos)
2 — Zapatos negros y calcetines negros (los zapatos con banda funcionarán)
3 — un Fedora de tu elección (algunos pueden tener todavía estos de hace 2 años) Preferiblemente gris o negro
Sombrero clásico a cuadros Manhattan estructurado Gangster Trilby Fedora estilo cubano Derby Hat Jazz Cap (talla M-L/7 1/4)
4 — Una camisa de vestir gris o plateada (manga larga con botones estilo “Oxford”)
