Greetings — a few things…

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday! We all have much to be thankful for, in the “Band World” and otherwise!

A Note about Band Notes — Editors Note:

Band Notes Newsletter generates a “Reading Time” for each Newsletter. That’s the time it takes an 8th grader to read the FULL newsletter. Generally, it’s 3 minutes or so. Please take the time and read the entire newsletter. I respect your time and will make every effort to keep things concise. It’s very frustrating to receive multiple emails looking for information that has already been broadcast! Thank you…

Drum Line: Wednesday December 18 — Indoor Drum Line 5:45–9p in the Band Room
Guard: — please see calendar below. All practices at Eli Whitney. Weeknight report times are 5:45 (we get the gym at 6:15)

Thanksgiving Game

Wednesday:

All large instruments to the dungeon by 11:15a

Thursday:

9a — report Penders Field (Back side gate) dressed waist down
10a — Game Begins
TBA — Halftime. SHS Students wear your SHS Uniforms and please meet us for warm ups during the second quarter, with 8 minutes left on the clock.
The game is usually over by 12p-12:30p, the latest 1p

It’s imperative that all members attend, as this is a well attended event by the town!

Merchandise

All merchandise has been ordered.

Merchandise ordered from the “Online Store” will be shipped to your home and should arrive prior to the holiday break.
Jackets and tees have been ordered and MIGHT arrive prior to the holiday break

THIS JUST IN:

T-Shirts will ship by 12/12.

Jackets — still TBD. They wouldn’t guarantee us XMAS delivery as we discussed so waiting for an ETA from them.

Online Store should ship by next week.

Holiday Concert

December 11, 2019–7p — BHS Auditorium

6p — Report time for students
$3 Donation at the door
7p — Concert Begins
Chamber Orchestra, Choir, Concert Band & Wind Ensemble will perform
Concert should conclude by 8:30p

The concert is a mandatory performance, and the HS Students will receive a GRADE! All students in the High School classes MUST attend! Percussion students will be invited to perform, as not all Period 2 Students perform on this event.

Holiday Concert Dress Code

Men — Black Pants, White Shirt, Tie (Holiday colors — Red/Green/Blue/Silver/Gold/Purple), Dress Shoes & Socks. NO Jeans or Sneakers. Marching Band shoes are acceptable.
Ladies — Black Pants or Black skirt (that , White Shirt, Tie (Holiday colors — Red/Green/Blue/Silver/Gold/Purple), Dress Shoes & Socks. NO Jeans or Sneakers. Marching Band shoes are acceptable.
