Mid Week Updates

Jacket Order

We are currently offering a Black Band Jacket. It’s the flight jacket that we ordered the last time in 2019.

Expected delivery, if we order before Nov 1, is before the Holiday Break in December.

October 29 Filming at BHS

We will be inviting all BHS Band member’s families to attend the “Evening with the Bands” and be part of the audience for the night. Each Band Family can bring 4 people (in addition to the band member) to the event.

Audience members — Please arrive no later than 5p
plan on staying until 11p
we are operating concessions
if you, as a parent, are working concessions — you may invite more family members

Firm Dates for Disney

These are all FIRM dates:

Oct 27 — Covid testing for ALL Band students filming on Oct 29. I will act as Guardian for all Band members (parents are still needed at the event) so that ONLT students & band staff will be tested.

Oct 29 — Filming at BHS

Students — Report time is 4:00p in full uniform
End time is 10:30/11:00p

Nov 5 — Covid testing for Chang’s Band (no guard) & their parents/guardians

Nov 7 — Filming in Stamford times TBA

Tentative Dates for Disney

These are all TENTATIVE dates:

They are still trying to determine the make up date from last Saturday…

Oct 23 — Covid Testing for Chang’s Band & Guard rehearsal (Oct 25) Students and parents/staff who will be at the rehearsal ONLY

Oct 25–8:30a — Rehearsal in Uniform w/Actors in the Stadium (students excused from school — busses provided)

Nov 11 — possible filming day (students excused from school — busses provided)

Nov 20 — possible filming day

TBA — Covid testing for the final filming day (Chang’s Band & Guad plus their parents & guardians)

Senior Recognition at the Cavalcade of Bands

Please complete this form ONLY if you are a Senior, no later than Thursday, October 21 — this is so that you can sign up who will be escorting you for Senior Recognition at the Cavalcade of Bands at 6:45p

If you as a parent are escorting — please assemble at the end of the track near the concession stands immediately after the Bunnell Performance

5:00p — Sectionals — side field (Brass/Woodwinds/Perc)
5:45p — all members report to the side field
6:00p-7:45p — Drill sets side field
7:45p-8:00p — Run Thru’s
8:00p-8:30p — Chang’s Band Run Thru’s
8:30p-Clean up Dismissal

Looking Ahead

10–25 or 10–26 —Possible Dress Rehearsal at the Stadium w/Disney Actors 9a-11a

10–27–2021 — Full Band Rehearsal + Chang’s Band + Covid Testing for ALL

10–28–2021 — Full Band + Chang’s Band

10–29–2021 — Filming Day at BHS

Cavalcade of Bands at Bunnell — Oct 23

10:30a — arrive dressed Waist Down, get your gear and report to the stadium.
POSSIBLE Covid Testing
11:00a — Drill Rehearsals until LIGHT lunch (more like a snack)
Drill/Music after lunch
3:15p — Put on full uniform (middle school students will STAY with our rehearsal even after the other MS students arrive).
3:30p — Perform for the Middle School Students
3:45p — dinner coupon provided (seniors escort visiting bands)
5:30p — meet at Band Room for Warm Up
6:30p — Perform
6:45p — Senior Recognition
7:00p — Awards
7:30p — pack up/dismissed

Payments

All students should have $200 in towards your fund raising — please make a payment NOW if you are not caught up! (We need to pay our staff & vendors!!!)
